26/05/2022

Seattle, WA. (May 26, 2022). FlixBus, North America’s fastest-growing intercity bus service, is  launching cross-border trips between Seattle, Washington, to Vancouver, British Columbia, starting June 2, 2022.

FlixBus launched its Ontario domestic network in April 2022 and its first cross-border routes between New York City and Toronto in May 2022. The Vancouver connections will provide Pacific Northwest travelers with an affordable, convenient and sustainable option and fill a void in a region that has seen the loss of many cross-border travel options since 2020.

“Let’s not let high gas prices get in the way of the vacations we all deserve,” said Pierre Gourdain, Managing Director of FlixBus North America. “Never has it been so easy and affordable to bridge borders between the most beautiful cities in the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver is now connected to the world’s largest bus network.”

FlixBus Cross-Border Bus Partner: MTR Western

The entire FlixBus network is comprised of and driven by local bus partners, many of which are family-owned. Riding with FlixBus means customers are helping to support these local businesses and play a part in giving back to the community that these partners serve.

FlixBus’ Pacific Northwest cross border routes between the U.S. and Canada will be operated by MTRWestern Inc., an existing FlixBus bus partner in the Pacific Northwest who provides transportation solutions to the US Military, the region’s top professional and collegiate sports programs and the area’s top employers, casinos, hotels, resorts, and tourism operations.

“At MTRWestern, we are very excited to finally be able to link Vancouver, BC, and Seattle, WA, together via FlixBus and build stronger connections with each of the other cities that are serviced on the West coast. The partnership between MTR and Flix is changing the way that consumers think about West Coast travel and together, we’re charging forward with a new and improved future for intercity bus travel,” said Jeremy Butzlaff, President of MTRWestern.
