FlixMobility was founded as the start-up FlixBus by three young entrepreneurs in Munich, Germany, who had the vision of making sustainable bus travel both comfortable and affordable. FlixBus was officially launched in 2013 after the deregulation of the German bus market and quickly became the leading long-distance travel provider within the country.
In 2015, FlixBus began expanding internationally with long-distance networks in France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands and Croatia, as well as cross-border regular services to Norway, Spain and England. FlixBus USA launched in 2018, providing America with a new alternative in long-distance travel.
Today, passengers from around the world can benefit from Europe’s largest long-distance bus service as well as new intermodal travel options. André oversees FlixBus International Operations and Expansion. In 2009, he and Jochen brainstormed the opportunities that a deregulated bus market could provide. As a fan of alternative mobility, he doesn’t own a car and bikes to the office.
Jochen is responsible for FlixBus Corporate Development and Human Resources. Before founding FlixBus, he and André traveled the world as strategy consultants. During his studies, he organized bus ski trips to the Alps, which was his first experience with the industry.
Daniel manages FlixBus IT, Mobile and Software Development. During his studies, he founded a successful IT startup with classmate André. He eventually sacrificed his long-time job at Microsoft – and his car – to create Europe's largest long-distance mobility provider.
