While not officially a music festival, Burning Man definitely deserves to be on the top of your festival bucket list! According to the organizers, the festival is an experiment of radical self-expression and community, which means that everything in the event is made by the festival attendees. The event is held in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, and is founded upon what is called as the Ten Principles: radical inclusion, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy, and leave no trace. At Burning Man, you can enjoy a variety of artworks including sculptures, buildings, performances etc. It’s simply about sharing one’s talents for the entertainment of others.
During the event can also enjoy electronic music but Burning Man themselves do not release any lineups. So, have a look at different DJ’s social media to see if they have announced that they will be playing. The easiest way to get to Burning Man is to catch a FlixBus to Reno, the closest city, and then catch the festival's shuttle to the campgrounds.
