Flagstaff Arizona

Arizona Snowbowl

Just outside of Flagstaff is the Arizona Snowbowl, which is located on the tallest mountain in Arizona. The slopes are normally open between the middle of November to the end of April, depending on the amount of snow and weather conditions. Even though the Snowbowl is located outside of Flagstaff it’s very easy to get there with the free shuttle that can take you, to the slopes from central Flagstaff.

Reno, Nevada

Reno is one of the most famous and historical places on the West Coast when it comes to skiing. With great mountains and lots of snow, it makes a great place to be if you’re a ski or snowboard enthusiast. To top that, the area has an average of 300 days of sun per year. In the region there are several different ski resorts to be explored such as Heavenly, which is the largest and highest located resort but there are others worth exploring such as Northstar, Kirkwood and Squaw Valley. San Bernardino, California

The resorts are situated right outside of Los Angeles and are only a two-hour car ride from the beach. There are three different resorts; Bear Mountain, Snow Summit, and Snow Valley. e Bear Mountain is the perfect for snowboarders, while Snow Summit is the preferred resort for skiers. If you are a beginner or just want to avoid crowded slopes, Snow Valley is perfect as it’s a bit smaller and less crowded than the other two resorts.

Tucson, Arizona

Mount Lemmon Ski Valley, located just outside of Tucson Arizona, is the southernmost ski resort in the US. The slopes are usually open between mid-December to early April depending on snowfall and weather conditions. Due to the southern location of Mount Lemmon, people are able to play golf and enjoy the sun in Tucson in the morning and ski in the mountains in the afternoon, all in the same day!

Victorville, California

Just outside of Victorville, close to Los Angeles, is the Mountain High ski resort. Mountain High is the most visited ski resort in Southern California. The resort is actually split into three resorts, East, West, and North Resort, which all offer different difficulty levels making it a great destination for all type of skiers and snowboarders. It is super easy to move between the different resorts as there are shuttles right next to the ticket office that depart every 5 to 10 minutes.
