Safety on board
The Safest Way to Travel Across North America
At FlixBus, we go the extra mile to make sure each of our passengers arrives at their destination safely. The green buses meet high safety standards and every driver is certified and trained using the latest methods.
Onboard Safety Features
Safety on board is standard at FlixBus, thanks in part to technological innovations. Buses in our network feature the latest electronic driver assistance systems to ensure your safety. Electronic stability control (ESP), emergency brake assistance, lane change assistance, adaptive cruise control, ambient light sensors, clearance lights and more are standard safety features on the green buses to ensure you arrive at your destination securely. Moreover, each bus is frequently checked to guarantee the highest safety standards.
Trained and Certified Drivers
Trained and Certified DriversDrivers in our network also attend regular safety trainings to be prepared for any traffic or travel problem that may occur. Furthermore, drivers abide by the Hours of Service (HOS) regulations defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to ensure an appropriate amount of rest is achieved prior to and after each trip. Overnight journeys are served by a two-person crew, with the drivers alternating more frequently. No matter the length or time of your journey, safety is always the top priority of FlixBus, our bus partners and drivers.
Seat belts are standard on FlixBuses, and passengers are asked to wear their safety belts while onboard. For the safety of smaller passengers, we have age-appropriate seating, so you and your child can feel secure while traveling.
